What is your name?
What is your goal/s for your Local Heroes series in 2016?
To deliver outstanding performances that are of an international level to a Melbourne audience that is appreciative and supportive.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
I think perfect happiness is an anomaly!
What do you think about when you perform live?
Who is your ideal audience?
One that is appreciative, respectful and discerning.
What colours speak to you? Have you ever experienced synaesthesia?
I like green. Don’t know why! And no I have not experienced synaesthesia.
What is your favourite book and why?
At the moment it's 'The Opposite of Loneliness' by Marina Keegan. It's a collection of short stories by a young author and journalist who died in car crash 5 days after graduating from Yale, and just before she was due to start at the New Yorker. Its filled with optimism, a sense of reality, and takes on fears and irrationality in a way that makes us realise we are all insecure and prone to fear.
What is your favourite piece of music and why?
It's like saying what is your favourite food or wine. I like many many different foods, many varied bottles of wine and I therefore have no favourite piece of music. I have many! Life is too short to make one the most liked. What I like at one point in time will depend on the mood that I am in.
How did you come to play your instrument/s?
I played on (and dribbled all over) my mother's organ as an infant. She saw potential and sent me off for piano lessons!
